Time for a change.

I decided to change the theme of my tumblog because I was too lazy to figure out how to actually make it look good. Maybe someday I’ll mess around with it and figure shit out. Maybe now that the semester is over I’ll start getting stuff done on my to-do list. Probably not though, I’ll just talk about it and never actually accomplish anything. I will get that shit done. I’m determined to make my life successful as possible and nothing is going to stop me. I wonder if everyone feels like this when they are in their 20’s.

I told this man his friend was dead.

A little background about my job, I work at a university at our alumni office. I sometimes take calls regarding Alumni requesting information on friends they have lost touch with. Today I recieved a call such as this one, I looked up his friend and had to tell him that unfortunately his friend had passed away. He immediately started to choke up and I felt awful. I told the man I was sorry and tried my best to console him. He thanked me and simply said, “Well that’s life.” He hung up and I continued my search for more information on his deceased friend. I found an obituary online that matched and called him back. I told him he passed away a couple of years ago and he asked if I could email him the obituary. I did. He called back about 10 minutes later. “This isn’t my friend, his last name only has one N in it.” I was relieved but realized at the same time how much pain I just put this man through. He was looking for a friend whom he had lost touch with in college, they were roommates, he had been his best man in his wedding, and I just lied to him and told him he died. He’s still searching for his lost friend and I wish him all the best.

At work, Bored out of my mind.

I’m going to try to make a point of posting something on this thing at least once a day for those people actually interested in my life. So far, nothing interesting has happened. Everyone in the office left for lunch while I’m here finishing my tuna and rice. I think I might buy that domain www.tunaandrice.com since it’s up for sale. Also I was thinking about someday starting a sushi place like YO! Sushi  and having the name be TUNA and RICE. I think it’s clever. But if you’re not in my family or have ever eaten tuna and rice you don’t get it. I might put up a recipe on all recipes so that people can experience the greatness of it.

Found this while surfing the net, was made like 6 years before we ever landed on the moon. Sometime in the 60’s, what’s so interesting about this song you may ask. Well, the sounds produced here were used before electronics were widely used in music. HA!

Thought I’d check out this tumblr thing everyone is talking about. It seems easy enough to use, but will I use it? Can I find subject matter in my life interesting to post about? I guess we’ll find out. Here’s to popping my tumblr cherry!
